Q: What happens if a user loses his or her SecuriKey Token? If you lose or damage SecuriKey Token Number 1, and you have not turned your backup token into a SecuriKey Token for a second user, you can use your backup token as a replacement.
If you do not have a backup token for SecuriKey Token Number 1, or if you need a replacement for another SecuriKey Token, you will need to contact AKT (UK) Limited to arrange for a replacement key.
Q: Why Two Tokens? Your SecuriKey Professional Edition System was shipped with two USB tokens. The second token should be used as a replacement (or backup) token in the same way as a spare car key can be used to open your car in an emergency. However, the second token can also be used to allow another user to have access to your computer. Some will want the second token to be used by a spouse or children (with different access rights or privileges) If you use the second token to validate another user on your computer, then you will not have a spare key for emergencies. If you need additional tokens, they can be purchased from your re-seller or direct from AKT (UK) Limited.
Q: What is the difference between not having a SecuriKey Profile and the Access Denied Profile?Logically, not having a SecuriKey Profile is exactly the same as having a profile of type Access Denied. In both cases, a user attempting to logon would be denied any access to the computer. The benefit of the Access Denied profile type is one of convenience. Consider a situation in which a SecuriKey user temporally leaves the computer for an extended period of time, such as for a vacation. SecuriKey Computer Protection could be used to modify the user's profile to be of type Access Denied. In this manner, the you can ensure that the user account is not being used at a time that it should not be. When the user returns from vacation, the profile can be changed back to type SecuriKey Token Required.
